UML Shows Disagreement In Transfer Of Police
Kathmandu, June 19: The CPN (UML) has expressed objection to the transfer by the government of high-ranking officials of Nepal Police. A cabinet meeting on Monday had taken the decision to transfer various police officers.
Issuing a press release today, party secretary Bishnu Paudel strongly protested the transfers which he said have been done in an authoritarian manner and against the spirit of the election code-of-conduct. Paudel demanded that the decision be scrapped forthwith.
The present care-taker government which has announced a fresh election for the Constituent Assembly without political consensus and following due constitutional provisions has now blatantly violated the election code of conduct by taking this decision to transfer high police officials, the press release states.
