Major Leaders Hold Meeting For First TIme After Dissolution Of CA

Kathmandu, June 20: Major four political parties have again initiated talks from today for the first time after the dissolution of the Constituent assembly (CA).
Nepali Congress and CPN-UML were dissatisfied with UCPN-Maoist after the government decided to hold fresh elections on November 22.
Nepali Congress (NC), CPN-UML, UCPN-Maoist and United Democratic Madhesi Forum (UDMF) initiated new talks after holding discussions at the NC headquarters, Sanepa for the first time today after CA was automatically dissolved from the order of the Supreme Court.
UCPN-Maoist on one side and NC, CPN-UML and other parties on another are blaming each other for dissolution of the CA. Twenty-four days have passed away of dissolution of the CA.
Talking to media persons, Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, who participated in the meeting, said that the parties agreed in today’s meeting to find out consensus from the point where conversation among the political parties was broken.
Saying there was no alternative to consensus, Dahal informed that discussions have begun to end political and constitutional crisis and added that discussions among political parties is much necessary for the same.
Similarly, Vice-president of the NC, Ram Chandra Paudel said that differences of NC and CPN-UML were increased with UCPN-Maoist as the latter did not implement the five-point agreement signed among political parties.
The NC, CPN-UML and other parties have also launched agitation against Maoists by forming alliance after the government decided to go for fresh elections of the CA.
After the meeting, Paudel said that current political and constitutional complexity has come due to the UCPN-Maoist, and demanded that Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai should resign to pave way to move ahead.
He further said that resignation of the prime Minister would end the constitutional deadlock. Likewise, senior leader of the CPN-UML, Madhav Kumar Nepal said that talks have been initiated among political parties to create new environment of confidence and added that now the UCPN-Maoist should be responsible.
Nepal added that “We are in the same boat, the UCPN-Maoist should know that we all will drown if the boat sinks.”
 Chairman of Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party, Mahantha Thakur said that the meeting was very important to narrow down increased differences among political parties. Top leaders of the four political parties were present in the meeting held on the invitation of NC.
