Baidya Group Factionalist, Revisionist: Dahal

Kathmandu, June 20: Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal issued a press statement on Wednesday, and said the declaration of the new party under Baidya’s leadership has stunned all the people and revolutionary line.
Chairman Dahal said the group led by Baidya has justified itself that it was a capitalist, anarchic band moved by whims rather than conscience. Dahal termed the group irresponsible to nation and its people, encouraged by factionalism and prejudices.
He urged all cadres and people to unite in the UCPN-Maoist and move being further committed rather than being misled by the anarchist and revisionist mindset of the Baidya group.
The statement reads that the Baidya faction’s saying to continue the dialogue with the mother party the UCPN-Maoist until the general convention was positive and would continue efforts for unity with the group.
Meanwhile, The Unified CPN (Maoist) has postponed its cadres gathering called for June 29 to July 16.Emerging from the standing committee meeting, the UCPN-Maoist Spokesperson Dina Nath Sharma said the party has decided to organize the gathering from July 16 to July 20.
Similarly, the party has decided to call the Politburo meeting on July 9-11 and Central Committee meeting on July 11-14, said Spokesperson Sharma.
The UCPN-Maoist has also formed a three-member talks team led by Standing Committee member Amik Sherchan. Maoist leader Barshaman Pun and spokesperson Sharma are other members of the talk team.
The meeting also decided to initiate talks for uniting the party with the CPN, Maoist led by Mohan Baidya, the group that was recently split from the UCPN-Maoist.
