NC Could Lead The National Consensus Government: Prachanda

Biratnagar, Aug. 17: Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that a national consensus government under the leadership of the Nepali Congress (NC) could be formed if the five-point agreement signed with NC and CPN-UML would be practiced in letter and spirit.
At a news conference organized by the UCPN-Maoist Kochila State Committee here today, Dahal said that he made the integration of the PLA combatants taking a risk to give political outlet to the country.
Blaming that the Constituent Assembly (CA) was dissolved due to activities of the NC and UML against federalism, he clarified that his party is active to establish the achievements made from the people's movement.
The former prime minister said that it was ridiculous to launch street agitation by NC and UML demanding resignation of caretaker prime minister and added that he is confident that the President will not take any unconstitutional measures without political consensus.
Dahal said that Federal Democratic Republican Alliance (FDRA) was formed to give an outlet to the country, and not against anyone,  and added that consensus was forged on going for the next CA elections jointly, for federalism with ethnic identity and to establish people's progressive rights.
Responding to a query, he claimed that a national consensus government would be formed at least within a week or one month in the maximum after holding discussions and talks among political parties.
