JANAKPURDHAM,DEC 29: Dhanusha district has been shut down today in a bid to protest the suspension of lawmaker Sanjay Kumar Sah for ten days.

All educational institutions, transport services, industries and shops in the district have been brought to a grinding halt due to the shut down imposed by Madhes Kranti Forum (MKF)-Nepal.

The Forum has demanded to withdraw the decision of suspension saying the action, which was taken against lawmaker Sah, was discriminatory.

Lawmaker Sah on December 22 had aggressively vandalized three microphones of the Constituent Assembly (CA) for not being provided time to him, to speak in the CA by Chairman of the CA, Subash Nembang.

According to Parliament Secretariat, property worth Rs. 300,000 was destroyed in the vandalism and the lawmaker has been suspended for ten days.

The Parliament Secretariat had also decided to recover the amount from the salary of lawmaker Sah.
