Nawalparasi Bus Accident Death Toll Reaches 38
Parasi, July 15: At least 38 people have confirmed dead in Nawalparasi bus accident.Of the dead, bodies of 10 women, 27 men and a minor have been found so far, police said.The bus (Lu 1 Kha 2356) carrying the pilgrims from Jhulenipur, Nepal-India border area, for a fair beginning from Monday had plunged into Gandak canal at Triveni in Nawalparasi district this afternoon.
Police estimated that some 130 passengers were in the bus.Superintendent of Police, Gyan Bikram Shah, said that five have been rescued while search for many other missing is underway.Chief District Officer of Nawalparasi, Bir Bahadur Rai, and other officials have reached the incident site. Details of the accident are yet to come.
