Nepali businesses in Europe are organizing the ‘Nepal-Europe Technology, Trade, and Investment Conference-2026’ in Luxembourg on November 29 and 30, aiming to attract European investment and technology to Nepal.

The conference, hosted by the Nepali Business Association Europe (NEBA Europe), seeks to connect Nepali entrepreneurs, investors, and second-generation youth residing in Europe with Nepal. A primary goal is to facilitate the inflow of European capital and technological expertise into Nepal.

Chiran Khawas, a NEBA Europe member, stated that the conference is not only for Nepali participants but also aims to involve local and other European businesses and investors. “Many products brought from Nepal to Europe are currently consumed only by Nepalis. Our ambition is to introduce Nepali products into the larger mainstream European market,” Khawas said.

Khawas emphasized the need to improve the quality and ensure consistent supply of Nepali products. To address this, the conference will prioritize the transfer of European technology to Nepal.

Yam Niraula, President of NEBA Europe, highlighted that the event will bring together investors who have previously invested in Nepal and those interested in future investments. “We want to gather those investors in Europe who have already invested in Nepal and are preparing to invest again,” Niraula explained. The conference will also focus on engaging the second generation of Nepalis, raised in Europe, in entrepreneurship and economic ties with Nepal.

Organizers stressed the importance of a single-window system to streamline foreign and non-resident Nepali (NRNA) investment in Nepal. Niraula added that issues concerning NRNA citizenship and rights are also linked to investment facilitation.

The conference anticipates approximately 300 participants. Organizers plan to collect an estimated 200 Euros per person as a registration fee and secure around 40,000 Euros through sponsorships to manage the event’s expenses.

NEBA Europe views the conference not as an extravagant event but as the beginning of genuine trade, investment, and technology cooperation between Nepal and Europe. “We consider November 29 and 30 as the first days. Our real journey begins after that,” Niraula stated.
