The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Nepal’s anti-graft body, has filed a corruption case against Dillibahadur Oli, a team chief survey officer at the Dillibazar Survey Office, for allegedly accepting a Rs 1 million bribe. The charge was filed with the Special Court on Thursday, October 8, 2026.
Oli, who led Survey Team 3 in Machhapokhari under the Dillibazar office, is accused of demanding the bribe from a service seeker to recommend the registration of unregistered land. The CIAA stated that its investigation confirmed Oli took the money to facilitate the land registration process.
The CIAA initiated its investigation after receiving information and complaints that Oli was soliciting a bribe. A team from the anti-graft body’s Tangal office apprehended Oli while he was in possession of the Rs 1 million from the service seeker.
According to Suresh Neupane, spokesperson for the CIAA, the investigation revealed that Oli had caused unnecessary delays and harassment to the service seeker. He allegedly demanded the bribe to forward the land registration file, including the recommendation for unregistered land, to the Land Administration Office in Manmaiju.
The CIAA has sought imprisonment and a fine equivalent to the bribe amount, Rs 1 million, against Oli. The charges have been filed under Section 3(1) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059 (BS), which addresses corruption by public officials.
The case will now proceed to the Special Court, which aims to resolve corruption cases within six months. The court will determine whether Oli will face the imprisonment and fine demanded by the CIAA.
The specific date for the Special Court’s verdict in this case has not yet been set. Additionally, Oli’s nationality has not been mentioned in the available information, and the identity of the service seeker involved in this case has not been disclosed.
